Kenneth Foster - Death Row Inmate commuted to life Kenneth was the driver of a car with three passengers (Mauriceo Brown, Julius Steen, and Dewayne Dillard). It was late into the night. One of the men, Mauriceo Brown, left the car. Minutes later he shot a man named Michael LaHood. Kenneth and the others still sat in the car more than 80 feet away. The prosecution claimed that Brown did a robbery that all four of the individuals were in knowledge of, thus they were considered parties of the crime.
We regret that Mr. LaHood had to die in this tragic way and feel deep sympathy for his family. However we also believe that Kenneth Foster's death sentence after the law of parties is not just.
